The Workshop on Education in Computer Security invites you to participate by submitting papers and panel proposals.

Both papers and panel topics will be considered. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to the following: Practical and Experimental Approaches to Information Security Education
  • General Education in Information Security
  • Instruction in Advanced Topics in Information Security
  • Cyber Ethics Education
  • Education in Computer Forensics and the Law
  • Education in Electronic Commerce Security
  • Education of Information Security Professionals
  • Standards for Security Education
  • Evaluation of Security Education
  • Information Security Awareness Throughout The University
  • Student Assessment in Information Assurance Education
  • Information Security Distance Learning
Authors should submit original work that has not been previously published. Papers are limited to 12 pages (using 12-point font, single column format, and reasonable margins on 8.5"x11" or A4 paper). Each paper must include an abstract and a list of keywords. All submissions should be blinded for review.

Each submission should be in the form of two documents: (1) a cover page listing the title, authors and contact information, and (2) the blinded paper with the title and no author information.

Email your submissions to the Special Events Coordinator. The template for sumbmissions is available here or at the top of every WECS page.

Panel proposals of no more than 4 pages are welcome. These should include a statement of the panel topic, the name of the moderator, and a list of potential panelists that includes a brief description of their qualifications.

The preliminary deadlines for paper and panel proposal submission and notification are:
  • Submission of papers 23 Sept., 05
  • Submission of panels 23 Sept., 05
  • Notices of Acceptance 24 Oct., 05
  • Camera-ready Papers 14 Nov., 05
Special Features
As part of WECS7, CISR will provide an extensive hands-on scenario development tutorial for CyberCIEGE, a computer-based tool to teach network security concepts. CyberCIEGE is an extensible, commercial-quality video game that allows students to understand the impact of security choices in a simulated world. A copy of CyberCIEGE will be provided to attendees. Conference Site
The conference will be held at CISR's home; the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.
