Directions:
Before your trip, ensure that your host has put you on the access list. Otherwise, you will not be permitted on the campus. Be sure to bring the telephone number of your host.

From San Francisco and San Jose Airports
  1. Take US Route 101 South to Prunedale.
  2. At Prunedale, take CA Route 156 (West) to CA Route 1 (South).
  3. Proceed on CA Route 1 (South) to Monterey.
  4. Take the "Del Monte Avenue" exit.
  5. Follow the signs to Del Monte Avenue and turn left on Sloat Ave.
  6. Turn left at stop sign to enter 10th Street Gate.
  7. Stop and verify your ID with the Guard at the gate.
  8. Just after passing the metal fence, turn left and follow Dyer Road (north) as it snakes down the side of the campus.
  9. When the road swings to the right (east), you are behind Glasgow.
  10. Find parking behind the Glasgow Building.  CISR is located in the Glasgow East wing.

From Los Angeles and San Diego
  1. Take US Hwy 5 North to Sacramento.
  2. At Lost Hills, take CA Route 46 west to Paso Robles.
  3. At Paso Robles, take US Route 101 north to Salinas. At Salinas, take CA Route 68 west to Monterey.
  4. Follow 68 to Monterey. Stay left onto CA Route 1 (south).
  5. Immediately take the "Monterey Exit" off of CA Route 1 (south).
  6. Stay in the left hand lane of the exit. Turn left at the first light onto Aguajito Road.
  7. Follow Aguajito south to and take a left at Mark Thomas Drive.
  8. Follow Mark Thomas Drive and take a left onto Sloat Avenue.
  9. Turn right at stop sign to enter 10th Street Gate.
  10. Stop and verify your ID with the Guard at the gate.
  11. Just after passing the metal fence, turn left and follow Dyer Road (north) as it snakes down the side of the campus.
  12. When the road swings to the right (east), you are behind Glasgow.
  13. Find parking behind the Glasgow Building.  CISR is located in the Glasgow East wing.

From Monterey Peninsula Airport
  1. Upon leaving immediate vicinity of Passenger Terminal, Olmstead Road bears to the right, away from runway.
  2. Take first right onto Garden Road.
  3. Take Garden Road westbound for approx. 2 miles to first stop light and make a left onto Mark Thomas Drive.
  4. Proceed on Mark Thomas Drive to first traffic light.
  5. Take a right onto Sloat Avenue.
  6. Turn right at stop sign to enter 10th Street Gate.
  7. Stop and verify your ID with the Guard at the gate.
  8. Just after passing the metal fence, turn left and follow Dyer Road (north) as it snakes down the side of the campus.
  9. When the road swings to the right (east), you are behind Glasgow.
  10. Find parking behind the Glasgow Building.  CISR is located in the Glasgow East wing.
2.5 miles (or 5 minutes)

The drive to Monterey from San Francisco takes about 2 hours 15 minutes (approx. 125 miles) when traffic is not too congested. From San Jose, it takes about 1 hour and 35 minutes (approx. 85 miles).
