  ACADEMICS: Course List - CS4678

CS4678: Advanced Vulnerability Assessment (4-2)
Instructor: Eagle

This course provides a basis for understanding the potential vulnerabilities in networked systems by applying a problem-solving approach to: 1) obtaining information about a remote network, 2) possibly exploiting or subverting systems residing on that network, 3) understanding the theory of operation of existing tools and libraries along with how to measure the effectiveness of those tools, and 4) understanding tools and techniques available for vulnerability discovery and mitigation. Labs provide practical experience with current network attack and vulnerability assessment tools as well as development of new tools. Footprinting, scanning, enumeration and escalation are addressed from the attacker's perspective. A final project that demonstrates skill and knowledge is required. This course is UNCLASSIFIED FOUO, U.S. Only.
