CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professionals) Certification
The recent DoD Directive 8570.1, titled Information Assurance Training, Certification, and Workforce Management, specifies training requirements for both technical and management IA personnel. A CISSP certification satisfies both the Level III Technical IA Workforce requirement and the Level III Management Workforce requirement.
The following courses are for DoD Civilians, Military personnel and NPS Students. NPS courses support preparation for the exam in the two following ways.
Take the web-based CS3006 course (See brochure). This course is an excellent source of information for individuals who are preparing for the CISSP exam. It covers the 10 CISSP information systems security test domains and uses Shon Harris' ALL-IN-ONE CISSP EXAM GUIDE as a text book.
or
Take the resident CS3600 and CS3670 courses. These courses are also excellent sources of information for individuals who are preparing to take the CISSP exam. They both use the ALL-IN-ONE CISSP EXAM GUIDE, by Shon Harris, as a text book. CS3600 requires students to read most of chapters 4, 5, 7 and 8 and CS3670 requires students to read chapters 1, 3, 6, 9, 10 and 12.
