| RESEARCH: Projects - UDP |
UDP and Collaboration Services Collaboration tools are becoming embedded in the business processes of many enterprises. These tools may include many different communication functions such as e-mail, distributed file-sharing systems, Internet Relay Chat, shared "white boards," video, voice, etc. Collaboration tools typically operate using one or more central servers and/or some form of peer-to-peer interaction.
Many collaboration services rely on the UDP protocol, which can lead to various interoperability and security problems. The UDP and Collaboration Services project is investigating the different architectural and security approaches used for these services. The focus of the project is to understand the security advantages and disadvantages of different approaches as they affect users, data owners, system administrators, and enterprises.
